The threat of another stalker, and the worry that Matt may be returning kept me turning pages eagerly, hoping that none of Camelia’s friends would turn out to be just the opposite. The writing is not amazing–I get the sense that we’re supposed to care about and like Camelia’s neglected best friends she ignores them in her fascination with Ben but they’re really not that interesting–they’re actually kind of annoying. She was insensitive to Camelia’s feelings and only really thought of herself, it was always her her her. At school the following year, Camelia discovers the new boy in school is named Ben Carter and is also apparently a murderer. I am looking forward to next book to see what is going on. Camelia sounds like Chameleon almost died three months ago, when she bent down to pick up her earring in the parking lot and nearly got hit by a car. The ‘Deadly Little’ series could be a portrayal of average teenage life, except that its more intense elements cut the plausibility of the series short. Noooo, Camelia, you kissed him while having a picnic with him on your first date. He seems to care about her, but he isn’t Ben. Also, the minor characters in the form of Kimmie and Wes, seemed to have little interection and seemed to serve no other purpose other than lighten the mood. Who was getting into her room? In regards to the harassing calls and laurle that begin resurfacing around Camelia, at times I felt incredibly agitated with her for not going to her parents, and wanted to yell at her for not being more aggressive about her safety.

lsurie Ben insists she is in danger, and that he can help-but can he be trusted? Not to mention whenever she was with him she was generally thinking about Ben anyway. Which I greatly appreciated. The journal entries definitely brought the book to an even creepier level, and kept me turning the pages. Failure to take in small doses may result in irrational behavior, poor judgment, and estrangement from one’s friends.

Pasted from an angry Facebook comment that I posted: The only reason I gave it a 4-star is because it really scared me. Stolarz was once again able to make the stalker aspect of the story incredibly creepy, while countering it with Camelia’s and Ben’s complicated and sizzling relationship. About Laurie Faria Stolarz. One day Ben touched her and squeezed her arm hard and then told her that she was in danger. Since, for one, she wasn’t making extremely stupid decisions in not telling anyone what was happening like s Since, Deadly Little Secret was only mediocre, in my opinion, I was a bit hesitant to start Deadly Little Lies.


She was insensitive to Camelia’s feelings and only really thought of herself, it was always her her her. She is best friends with Kimmie and Wes. And dtolarz your read the first book, you know that would NOT be a good thing! Ben, or all the other people telling her not to?

Deadly Little Secret – 52 Summary & Analysis

Stolarz once again kept me guessing with the plot. I could not, for the life of me, stolarzz out who the stalker was. Can she trust the new and handsome boy with the so-called “shady” past? But Ben was the talk of the school everyone lihtle saying he moved here because where he was from he killed his ex-girlfriend by pushing her of a cliff.

View all 4 comments. Like yes I enjoyed it, I’m happy I read it but there’s nothing too memorable about the story. Camelia felt bad for Debbie and it ended up that she was the one who was leaving notes.

The characters are easy to relate to-teenagers who are occasionally misunderstood by their peers or parents, who sometimes are not sure who to trust or turn to. It was thrilling and mysterious and totally unexpected.

As the story advances, Camelia learns the reason for his strange behavior, and what really happened that fateful day at the cliff. Stilarz need to start a bad YA book drinking game. It’s full of suspense and it kept me guessing throughout the book.
